Le travail de Lucas résulte d’un processus d’adaptation constant où ses expériences personnelles et son environnement immédiat s’entrelacent. Il conçoit chaque œuvre comme une improvisation longue et fluide. Son travail s’inscrit souvent dans une démarche in situ, où le lieu et le contexte enrichissent l’œuvre. Lucas puise dans la beauté et la banalité du quotidien, tout en explorant les enjeux sociaux qui l’entourent. À travers ces concepts, il cherche à susciter une ouverture, à inciter à la réflexion et à établir un dialogue avec le spectateur. Ses créations, souvent de grand format, témoignent d’une approche à la fois physique et immersive, directement influencée par son passé de sportif. Sa gestuelle imposante et intuitive se manifeste par des mouvements spontanés, où il piétine, manipule et interagit pleinement avec ses œuvres. Chaque geste, porté par l’énergie brute de son corps, traduit une tension entre contrôle et impulsivité. Cette démarche, à la fois réfléchie et viscérale, cherche à offrir une expérience visuelle et émotionnelle immersive, engageant le spectateur dans un processus de réflexion et d’interaction avec l’œuvre.

Lucas’s work stems from a constant process of adaptation, where his personal experiences and immediate environment intertwine. He approaches each piece as a long, fluid improvisation. His practice is often rooted in an in situ approach, where the location and context enrich the artwork. Drawing from the beauty and banality of everyday life, Lucas also explores the social issues surrounding him. Through these concepts, he aims to inspire openness, provoke thought, and establish a dialogue with the viewer. His creations, often large-scale, reflect a physical and immersive approach directly influenced by his background as an athlete. His imposing and intuitive gestures are expressed through spontaneous movements, as he stomps on, manipulates, and fully interacts with his works. Each action, driven by the raw energy of his body, conveys a tension between control and impulsiveness. This process, both deliberate and visceral, seeks to provide an immersive visual and emotional experience, inviting the viewer into a space of reflection and interaction with the artwork.

Né en 1996 au Saguenay, Lucas Lajoie est un artiste contemporain basé à Montréal. Diplômé en arts visuels de l’Université de Sherbrooke, il s’inspire de la beauté et de la simplicité du quotidien. Ancien sportif semi-professionnel, cette expérience physique et disciplinaire influence profondément sa démarche artistique. Son parcours a également été marqué par l’influence de sa mère, elle-même artiste.
En 2023, il réalise sa première exposition, Moment Mirage, lors d’une résidence artistique à Paris offerte par le Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ). Depuis 2024, Lucas explore de nouvelles perspectives à Sydney, où il s’est temporairement installé pour accompagner sa partenaire. Il travaille actuellement sur des projets à portée sociale qui visent à pousser les gens à la réflexion, tout en poursuivant sa pratique à l’échelle internationale.

Born in 1996 in Saguenay, Lucas Lajoie is a contemporary artist based in Montreal. A graduate in visual arts from the University of Sherbrooke, he draws inspiration from the beauty and simplicity of everyday life. A former semi-professional athlete, his physical and disciplined background deeply informs his artistic practice. His journey has also been shaped by the influence of his mother, herself an artist.
In 2023, Lucas held his first exhibition, Moment Mirage, during an artist residency in Paris awarded by the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ). Since 2024, he has been exploring new horizons in Sydney, where he temporarily relocated to accompany his partner. Currently, he is working on socially driven projects aimed at encouraging reflection while continuing to expand his practice internationally.
